Abstract
I have conducted clinical study to find outmost effective treatment method for ¡¾e 196 cases of impotence in collaboration with a psychiatrist for the period of 8 years between 1964 and 1971. By the way of summary, I can present the -following data as abstracted:
1. There was a obvious tendency of marked increase in the number of patients of impotence year by year.
2. Patient¢¥s average age was 35. Average duration of marital life was 12 years. Average number of children born in these patients was 3.
3. The educational level was found to be quite high. That is, 25 per cent was university graduates.
4. Occupational differences showed no characteristic. That is, all kinds of occupations were found among all patients, from labor work to professional standing.
5. Most frequently mentioned chief complaints. were "decreased libido¢¥ and "weak erectile power."
6. Some kinds of mental insufficiencies gleaned through M.M.P.I. were found diffusely among all cases.
7. It was found that 78 per cent of all cases showed normal level of gonadotropin output in 24 hours¢¥ urine specimen. Average daily output of 17-ketosteroid was 11mg per day.
8. It was found that 80 per cent of cases showed exramarital relation, and 85 per cent of cases, premarital experiences.
9. In this study, I attempted to divide all cases of impotence into two groups, "somato-functional¢¥ and "psycho-functional" for the convenience of treatment approach and it¢¥s evaluation. It was found that 39 per cent of cases belonged to former group and 61 per cent of cases to latter group.
10. I have come to realize the fact that all cases submitted in this study showed psychological problems underneath the impotence and therefore, it was utmost importance to take thorough history as to sexual behavior and personal life pattern as well.
11. Final evaluation of treatment outcome for the cases of 138 among 196 cases revealed as follows
1) Hormonal treatment with Human chorionic gonadotropin (Puberogen, Tomah Pharm. Japan), and Testosterone depot, (Upjohn, U.S.A.). "Improvement"?76 per cent of somato-functional impotence group.
2) Aphrodisiac treatment with foreign made wonder drugs such as High-rogen supercapsule (Sankyo Pharm., Japan), Mamushi-ho-rmo (Sakamoto Pharm., Japan), Samongold (Daisho Pharm., Japan), Riki-hormo (Ono Pharm., Japan), Fromin (Takeda Ph-arm., Japan), Enarmon A (Teikoku-zoki Pharm., Japan), Enjyaku (Kyushin Pharm., Japan), Testasa (Tanabe Pharm., Japan), Fujicapin.(Fuzizawa Pharm., Japan), Zumba (G.M.B.H., W. Germany), Apia-basillon KH3 (W. Speiser, K.G., W. Germany), Api-top vita-hormone (W. Speiser, K.G, W. Germany), AN-I (Dr. med. Hans Voigt Chem-Phaiin., W. Germany), Hormo-gerobin (E. Mork, W. Germany), Golden youth (Mayfair Lab., England), L-DOPA (Dopa, U.S.A.), Opovita (Daerin Thyronamin (Takeda Pharm., Japan), and Prednisolone (Up John, U.S.A.): "Improvement"?69 per cent of somato-functional impotence group, and 59 per cent of psycho-functional impotence group.
3) Psychological treatment: "Improvement¢¥?59 per cent of psycho-functional impotence group.
4) Local-treatment:"Improvement"?68 per cent of weak erection, and 70 ¡Æ per cent of prema ture ejaculation.
5) Overall improvements were noted cases out of the 138 impotent subJects.
